SARETI MASTERS: OUR PARTNERS
SARETI MASTERS: OUR PARTNERS
SARETI IV Masters is presented in collaboration with eight core partners. These strategic partnerships assist in exposing students to real-life situational learning. Students learn how research ethics committees work and how research is reviewed. Four different research sites expose students to case studies of ethical issues that arise in both social science and clinical research. The University Law Clinic exposes students to the courts and the way in which litigation can be used to enforce rights. The partnerships also offer mentoring and public engagement opportunities to the students.
Our collaboration with BREC enables the students to experience the review of biomedical protocols through attending meetings and reviewing research under the guidance of the PIs.

The CCBR will offer site visits as part of the module on Ethical Issues in Community-Based Research. Students will have opportunities to interact with CCBR staff on the ethical issues they face in an applied research setting and participate in the HSRC seminar series on research ethics.
SARETI links with CAPRISA during the community engagement module for a site visit.
The DTHF collaborates with SARETI IV in the Introduction to Health Law Research module by developing practical case studies that can be used as part of the course materials.
SARETI and this NIH-FIC-funded training programme work together to share lessons on postgraduate mentoring.
This collaboration enables trainees to become more aware of real-world research ethics issues that arise in cutting-edge laboratories and field research in HIV & TB with vulnerable populations.
SARETI students observe and participate in the mentored review of proposals and applications to the HSRC REC.
